Mission Statement
To train and challenge dancers intensely to develop their talents and to promote a vision for academic excellence thru commitment, discipline and respect.

Purpose
Grandeza Mexicana Dance Academy was developed in 2004 as a rigorous folk dance academy aimed at developing the company’s next generation of dancers. Through the Academy, girls and boys ages nine to eighteen receive rigorous instruction by Grandeza Mexicana’s artistic team.

Tuition
$70.00 per month. Includes ballet/ technique classes

Repertoire

Regions include:

Veracruz, Guerrero, Jalisco, Chihuahua, Nayarit, Chiapas and Michoacan.

2nd Annual Showcase

The second annual Showcase will feature dances from Jalisco, Guerrero, Nayarit, Chihuahua, Veracruz and Chiapas.

Special Events and Participation:

For the first time since its inception, the Academy participated in the Spotlight Dance Cup held at Milliken High School in Long Beach where more than 20 dance studios from Los Angeles and Orange County participated. This was a three day event that began on March 28, 2008 with over 400 dance performances.

Grandeza Mexicana was honored with the Diamond Award for its production of “Noche de Santeria” with Porfirio Vidal as the Artistic Director and Choreographer. In addition to this prestigious award, Mr. Vidal received a special plaque for his work as artistic director and choreographer.

In December 2007, Grandeza Mexicana Dance Academy participated in the Los Angeles County Arts Commission Annual Holiday Celebration with KCET broadcasting the live event on Christmas evening.

The Academy has also participated in various folklorico competions in Sourthern California where the dancers have demonstrated their talent and the training they receive from the Grandeza Mexicana artistic team.
